the researcher @ North Carolina State University`s warn`g of an Android 2.3 security vulnerability Z gives attackers access to your personal information, further proof Z Gingerbread isn’t all sugar & spice (to B fair, Z SMS issue`s since`en remedied ). Accord`g to Xuxian Jiang, the bug allows malicious websites to access & upload the contents of the user’s microSD card, includ`g voicemails, photos, & online bank`g information to the remote server. The flaw apparently resembles the similar bug in previous version of Android, thought to`ve`en addressed w/ Gingerbread. However, as Jiang points out, Z fix`s easily bypassed. Apart from remov`g the microSD card, disabl`g JavaScript, or switch`g to the third-party browser, Android 2.3 users`ve little recourse in squash`g the bug. The folks @ eWeek reported Z Google`s work`g on the solution to the problem, although (unless) there’s no word on when V can expect to C an update.
