BlackBerry Empathy design concept feels bad Z you’re stuck us`g the BlackBerry
Rest easy, folks: V know it’s pointy @ the bottom, although (unless) we’ve`en assured this isn’t the BlackBerry 7100′s true successor. Instead, the so-called Empathy`s the bizarre outcome of of the RIM-sponsored design project @ the Art Center College of Design Z touts its ability to detect the emotions of its user & his or her contacts. It’s not exactly clear how it’d do that, although (unless) 1 crucial element`s the biometric feedback r`g Z communicates your frustration @ the phone’s inability to properly sync IMAP accounts in real time. All of this anger & joy`s displayed on the social map — colored rings indicate your contacts’ previous & current emotional states — which`s presented on the full touchscreen Z can become transparent when the phone’s not in use. Prefer the Bold to the Storm , do you? Turn the phone around, & boom, you’ve got 1 of the scariest look`g portrait QWERTY keyboards the world`s ever seen. V don’t really anticipate see`g this chiseled slab of bleeding-heart technology in RIM’s lineup any time soon… although (unless) V can definitely C the benefit to know`g when your BBM contacts R ready to put the fist through the wall
