Moovida’s new media center software`s great looks, so-so personality
w/ Microsoft plann`g the move away from the HTPC space & the shift to Windows Media Center embedded products, perhaps the gang @ Moovida`s look`g to take Redmond’s place in the home theater geek segment. The company`s unleashed the beautiful new media brows`g UI called ‘Immersed’ that’s powered by the 3D game engine, the fact which makes its media center bretheren look dowdy in comparison. There`s the steep price to pay 4 this digital eye candy, however, as the current version lacks the ability to stream content — so no Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube 4 you. Moovida’s software also packs an underly`g desktop-optimized UI, ‘Core’, Z provides automated media backup & cataloging, syncs your music & video w/ peripherals, & plays any non-DRM content known to man. Presently in beta, Moovida promises greater functionality in future releases & V can only hope Z means stream`g capability`s com`g soon, as in immediately .
