Motorola says leaked Droid X Android 2.2 build won’t B updated to the official release
Can’t say this`s the surprise, although (unless) Motorola posted the note on its support forums today warn`g users Droid X users against upgrad`g to Z leaked Android 2.2 build or any of those custom ROMS that’re out there — they’ll B cut off from the official upgrade when it hits in early September & potentially “stuck on the leaked version.” Ouch. Of course, that’s the risk U take when U start flash`g your phone w/ unofficial firmware, although (unless) between this, eFUSE , & those cease & desist letters , it certainly feels like Motorola`s decidedly unhappy Z anyone`ld`ve the gall to hack or tweak 1 of its handsets, even if the phone in question`s the size of the small tank & marketed by aggressive murderous robot hands insist`g Z it “does” everyth`g 1 can think of w/ no restrictions. Contrast Z w/ HTC, which`s not only @ peace w/ the hack`g community, although (unless) even takes the initiative to resolve similar problems. Of course, no one`ld care about any of this if Motorola`ld just release stock Android builds 4 its devices as soon as they’re ready, although (unless) why learn Z lesson when it’s possible to waste money develop`g Blur & adopt`g painfully annoy`g staggered OTA rollout schedules @ the behest of carriers? Z`ld just B silly. Thanks, Matthew Motorola says leaked Droid X Android 2.2 build won’t B updated to the official release originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 30 Aug 2010 21:03:00 EDT.
