Hey, what’s this? V just started hear`g rumors this morn`g Z Microsoft`s plann`g the new Xbox 360 controller w/ an improved D-pad, & bang — Major Nelson just went live w/ the YouTube video detail`g the new piece. The new D-pad`s the trick new patented design that’s just as V heard from Joystiq : it’s the disc in the normal configuration, although (unless) the quick twist raises the crossbars about the quarter-inch, mak`g it eminently more usable. (That sound U hear`s joyous weeping.) The analog sticks`ve also`en slightly tweaked to B concave, & — wonder of wonders — the ABXY buttons R now translucent monochrome instead of colored. Wild. The new matte silver controller`ll only come bundled w/ the Play & Charge kit 4 $64.99 when it launches on November 9 in the States & replaces the exist`g wireless controller — it’ll hit Europe around February. Yep, it definitely seems like the major upgrade, although (unless) we’ve got the couple questions: when`ll it replace the packed-in controller?
