Redbox announces plans to enter stream`g Business next year
It may not B quite the same obvious transition Z Netflix made, although (unless) it looks like DVD kiosk company Redbox`ll soon B mak`g the push of its own into the stream`g business. Z word comes straight from the CEO of parent company Coinstar, Paul Davis, who told listeners to the company’s recent earnings call Z it`s in “detailed negotiations w/ the number of highly interested parties” to launch the “Redbox-branded” stream`g service sometime next year. Z`ld seem to suggest Z Redbox`ll B rely`g on the partner already established in the field rather than roll`g its own service, although (unless) Davis`s otherwise light on details, add`g only Z stream`g represents the “significant opportunity” 4 the company. Z doesn’t mean Redbox`ll B gett`g out of the kiosk Business anytime soon, though — accord`g to Davis, there’s still the “long, profitable life ahead” there.
